The Caroni The Paradise series was launched during the legendary Caroni Ceremony on 12 April 2019 in Cognac, when twenty-six rum experts, including Luca Gargano, selected the twenty-three best barrels from the 136 remaining in Caroni’s last available stock. This selection gave rise to Caroni The Last, Caroni Tasting Gang and Caroni Employees, alongside a selection of special casks bottled as Single Casks: the ‘The Paradise’ series. The bottles were hand-blown by glass artist Massimo Lunardon, with labels featuring works by Che Lovelace – an artist from Trinidad and lecturer at the University of the West Indies’ Creative Arts Campus – which are strongly inspired by Caribbean colours.
This gift set contains the five new releases in the series in 20 cl bottles, allowing you to enjoy the entire selection. Inside are the five bottles corresponding to the casks selected in Cognac and decanted into three 54-litre glass demijohns: Caroni Paradise #13 (cask #5607, Heavy Trinidad rum 1996) and #14 (cask #6133, Heavy Trinidad rum 1994), from the stock transferred to Guyana in 2009, together with #15 (cask #3801, 1996), #16 (cask #3929, 1998) and #17 (cask #4026, 2000), from the stock that remained in Trinidad until 2019.
