The Lakes presents The Whiskymaker's Edition Galaxia: a Single Malt created by Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess, who has taken up the legacy of Dhavall with perhaps the most complex reference in Lakes' history. It is a whisky matured in a combination of casks that have contained bourbon, red and white wine, calvados and several types of Sherry, giving it a rather unprecedented broad aromatic spectrum.
The nose is very seductive, with hints of cake, ginger, nuts, cocoa and apple crumble. The palate is complex and creamy, with spicy notes of wood that harmonise with honey, pecans and Christmas sweets. The finish is persistent, with unexpected red fruit and chocolate tones.
Galaxia is not cold filtered, contains no dyes and is a limited edition.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
