Nicknamed the Irish nectar and voted Best of the Best 2003 by Whisky Magazine, Redbreast 12 Y.O. Irish Whiskey is crafted in-house at the Midleton distillery from an equal mixture of malted and unmalted barley (whiskey pure pot still). With the creation of an appellation dediée, Redbreast became a Single Pot Still (all the current pure pot stills come from a single distillery: it was therefore decided to emphasise this fact, in the same way as Scottish distilleries with their single malts and single grains).
Tasting notes
- Colour : old gold with slightly amber highlights.
- Nose : broad and very expressive, it is marked by red fruits (blackcurrant bud) and ripe fruit (peach). It evolves delicately on burnt wood and sweet spices (red berries).
- Mouth : rich and mouth-watering on the attack, it is dominated by red fruits (blackcurrants). It gradually reveals exotic fruits (coconut) and ripe fruit (apricot, peach). It also reveals toffee and praline.
- Finale : long and firm, evolves on spices (sweet pepper) and candied fruit (peach). It lingers on notes of very ripe pear.

Who was born first, Scotch whiskey or Irish whiskey? We will probably never know the answer, and in the end it is not even of fundamental importance.

It is the king of hot drinks, and it is perfect for cold winter afternoons: we are talking about Irish Coffee, the world's most famous spiked coffee. Did you know that it was invented in an airport? Let's...
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
