Caol Ila 25 Y.O. 1997 Antipodes G&M Single Malt is an incredible example of the best of Islay. Distilled in 1997 at the legendary Caol Ila distillery and aged for 25 years in an ex-Sherry First Fill single cask, it was selected by independent bottler Gordon and MacPhail for its Antipodes collection. Very limited edition.
Caol Ila 25 Y.O. 1997 Antipodes G&M Single Malt has a delicate and rich nose, in which the first saline, empyreumatic, animal and cherries-in-spirit hints evolve into strong spices and heady flowers, later soaking in bittering chocolate and malt, mineral and iodine nuances. The palate is deep, rich with marine, fruity, medicinal and spicy notes that gradually become more autumnal and herbaceous, with hints of chocolate, coffee and embers. The finish is persistent and woody, and echoes by amplifying the oxidative and iodine character of the nose, with an exotic, spicy, roasted and grilled aftertaste.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
