This 12 year old Ledaig Single Malt Conquete was distilled in 2009 at the Tobermory distillery on behalf of Hidden Spirits, an independent Italian bottler on a mission to discover the best whiskies and rums, and then selected by La Maison du Whisky to celebrate its 65th anniversary. The near-transparent colour suggests that the type of casks had no influence on the palette of aromas and flavours, which are both elegant and complex.
The Single Malt Ledaig 12 Y.O. 2009 Conquete Hidden Spirits has an expressive and powerful nose, which starts with hints of bacon, moss, ash and peat combined with lemon, acacia honey, vanilla, pear and freshly cut grass. Subsequent nuances are of orange peel, liquorice, black pepper, camphor and tiger balsam. The palate is lively, starting with a medicinal peat that becomes more milky and mentholated, fading into marine and iodine notes. The finish is persistent, rich in acacia honey, liquorice and pineapple, with peat, clay and burnt wood.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
