Within the Special Release 2023 of Diageo, the single malt Mortlach The Katana's Edge is inspired by the typical scents of Japanese distillation.
A sweet but firm whisky, aging inside ex-Kanosuke Japanese Whisky and ex-Pinot Noir casks, extremely precise and structured.
Full-bodied and round, it expresses notes of melon and pear on the nose, then evolves to hints of leather, spice and pine. The palate is rich, silky, pungent.
A whiskey dictated by elegant contrasts, highlighting a deep and vibrant umami.
Single Malt Mortlach is a powerful whisky, opening with a strong umami balanced by acidity and sweetness. The nose has fresh hints of melon and pear, alternating with more earthy nuances of leather, spice and pine. The palate is rich, astringent and silky, full of fruity, earthy and pungent notes, which then open up to gentler tones of spices. The finish is long, dry, intense and warm.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
