This Mortlach is part of Diageo's highly anticipated Special Release 2024, which each year presents carefully selected editions that push the boundaries of classic whisky production. This year's collection is a further step in the exploration of flavours, experimenting with various barrel combinations and novel maturation techniques.
The Single Malt Mortlach was matured in casks that had previously contained Ramandolo white wine and Sangiovese red wine, which gave it unusually light and fresh notes, far removed from the more purely dark side of Mortlach.
Mortlach Diageo Special Release 2024 is very delicate and gentle on the nose, with a dry and exotic complex, with hints of lily of the valley, white currant, lychee and mangosteen.
The palate is smooth and creamy, with sweet and fruity notes that gradually evolve towards spicy, peppery and dry tannins.
The finish is medium-long, dry and warmly spicy, with a hint of white pepper.
An unusual flavour profile, which also makes this whisky perfect for a refined aperitif.
Each year, Diageo's Special Release presents selected and exclusive distillery editions that push the boundaries of traditional whisky production.
The 2024 collection is a continuation of the Spirited Xchange that deepens the exploration of flavours, experimenting with various combinations of casks that defy expectations. This collection focuses on curiosity and what happens when you challenge yourself to think.
A limited annual collection from the most important distilleries in Diageo's portfolio. Bottlings capable of elevating enthusiasts to new dimensions of taste with exhilarating maturation techniques.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
