It was 1817 when John Bulloch founded the Duntocher distillery on the banks of the River Clyde. It became Auchentoshan in 1834, and today the distillery is practically incorporated into the suburbs of Glasgow and is visited by many enthusiasts who take advantage of its proximity to the city.
A small curiosity: at the plant (now owned by the Beam Suntory group), production is by the triple distillation method, very common in Ireland but very rare in Scotland.
Here we have a single cask bottled by the Signatory label in 2017 for La Maison du Whisky: a single bourbon cask containing 24-year-old whisky that manages to elegantly combine the herbaceous and fresh notes typical of Lowlands Scotches with an evolved tropical fruitiness resulting from long ageing.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
