Monymusk Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in Jamaica, whose rums are produced from a particular blend of molasses and sugar cane juice with the addition of so-called dunders, or sun-dried residues from the distillation process. These local traditions together with the double distillation in small Pot Stills, give these rums a unique aroma and fullness.

Monymusk rum is made using a very special technique typical of Jamaica. The process begins at the fermentation stage, where sugar cane juice and dunders are added along with the molasses, i.e. the residue or waste produced by the previous distillation process to give it a greater aromatic profile.
The liquid is then distilled in small, double-distilled copper stills. Monymusk Gold is aged in American oak barrels for at least one year;
The Clarendon distillery, home of Monymusk, was built in 1949, making it a very recent addition to rum production. The original building still houses the distillery's two stills and fermentation tanks, but the complex has been greatly expanded over time;
Monymusk rums are aged and blended at Innswood, a former distillery that was permanently closed in 1992. Monymusk therefore represents only a fraction of the distillery's production, and its bulk rum exports are even more so. In terms of taste, their rums are known for their butyric acid flavours, a very distinctive profile that makes each vintage unique.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
