The Chichibu Distillery range gathers some of the most representative bottlings from this young Japanese distillery, highlighting its evolution and remarkable maturity despite its age. Each release is a building block in a story that blends extreme craftsmanship, long fermentations and a creative yet disciplined approach to wood management. These whiskies show what modern Japanese malt can be in the twenty?first century.
Chichibu Distillery, founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008, has quickly become a benchmark for craft Japanese whisky. Nestled among the hills of Saitama Prefecture, it works with small batches, carefully selected malt and obsessive attention to fermentation and maturation details. Creative cask management and a refusal to standardise flavour profiles make every bottling a fresh exploration of Chichibu malts potential.
Chichibu Distillery II captures the core Chichibu style: ripe fruits, honey, citrus, clean cereal and light oak spice shape a complete, coherent profile. The palate is full yet agile, with malt sweetness integrating seamlessly with herbal freshness and a discreet tannic backbone. The finish is long for the stated age, with returning yellow fruit, vanilla and toasted malt.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
