With Roku Gin Noryo Edition, The House of Suntory presents the second instalment of the Seasonal Festival Collection, a series of limited editions dedicated to the seasons and traditions of Japan. This release is inspired by Noryo, the ancient Japanese custom of seeking refreshment during the summer months by strolling along rivers whilst sipping green tea – a moment of connection with nature and a quest for balance. To interpret this ritual, Roku showcases two of its iconic botanicals: Sencha tea and the prized Gyokuro tea, harvested at the peak of their aromatic expression in accordance with the principle of Shun, which celebrates the seasonality of the ingredients.
Bottled at 43% vol., Roku Gin Noryo Edition offers an elegant and refreshing aromatic profile: on the nose, delicate herbaceous notes of Sencha emerge, accompanied by citrus undertones, whilst on the palate, Gyokuro imparts a rich umami component, balanced by light floral notes. The finish is long and harmonious, with hints of yuzu, sansho and green tea. The bottle retains Roku’s iconic hexagonal shape, embellished with green details and a washi paper label decorated with tea leaves, a tribute to Japanese aesthetics and craftsmanship.
A limited edition designed for lovers of premium gin and for those who wish to discover a refined and authentically Japanese take on summer.
Not only are Roku's ingredients of the highest quality, but many of them are uniquely Japanese and therefore known to perfection by Roku's Master Distillers. Every aspect of Roku Gin is crafted by Japanese artisans with a centuries-old tradition of meticulous attention to detail. In particular, the label for this edition was specially designed by Japan's expert washi paper artist, Hoiriki Eriko, with shades of pink and metallic tones simulating the fall of Sakura flower petals.
The details engraved on the glass were designed by the artist Ohgushi, known for his contemporary brush and ink technique.
A unique sensory and taste experience, also to be tried neat!
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
