Yamazaki Golden Promise is one of the rarest expressions in the Tsukuriwake Selection, the collection through which the Yamazaki distillery explores the various nuances of the art of whisky-making. The star of this edition is Golden Promise barley, a historic Scottish variety from the 1960s, prized for its extraordinary aromatic richness and cultivated by the Japanese distillery since 2009. Maturation in American oak casks enhances the spirit’s intense, malty character, resulting in an elegant single malt of great depth.
On the nose, it opens with aromas of sweet malt, honey, vanilla and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and enveloping, with notes of orange marmalade, custard and ripe citrus fruits that blend into a rich, silky texture. The finish is long, smooth and lingering, with a refined sweetness that accompanies every sip.
Yamazaki Golden Promise is a whisky designed to be savoured slowly, preferably neat, in a tulip-shaped glass that brings out its full aromatic complexity. A few drops of water can further open up the range of aromas, bringing out the more floral and citrus notes. For fans of Japanese whisky, it is a collector’s item, but above all a unique opportunity to discover the contribution of Golden Promise barley to Yamazaki’s refined and unmistakable style.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
