Raised in Sicily in the 1960s, in a small village overlooking the Aeolian Islands, Andrea Farsaci passionately guides us through the aromas and rituals of his childhood, when food was not just nourishment, but everyday language, family memory, shared knowledge, and every gesture, every recipe was part of a knowledge handed down, built over time by the hands and voices of an entire community.
Recalling memories of timeless cuisine and dishes, Farsaci also tells us how, for centuries, Italian culinary tradition was formed not in restaurants, but in homes, in courtyards, amid chatter at the table, and how today we risk losing its deepest meaning. More than a gastronomic memoir, Gattolardo is a declaration of love for cuisine as memory, identity and cultural resistance; a popular cuisine that comes from the land and the sea, but above all from sharing.
Against haste, standardisation and oblivion, this book celebrates food as a cultural and collective act that unites generations and tells the story of territories. A powerful and delicate invitation to rediscover not only a heritage at the table, but also a path to the future.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
