The Rainforest Distillery, in the Philippines, was founded in 2015 by Master Distiller Marc Schulze, the producer of Kasa Kaña Rum Agrikultura.
This Habitation Velier is produced from the Filipino sugarcane variety Manpu. Fermentation lasts between 9 and 11 days, incorporating young muck matured in the tropical biome of Bukidnon. Aged for 20 months in ex-Chardonnay casks, it has an Angels’ share of >10%.
A world premiere brimming with character and expressiveness.
MAXIMUM ONE BOTTLE PER CUSTOMER
Like all Habitation Velier rums, including Rainforest 2024 and Foursquare 2013, these are the result of a collaboration between Luca Gargano and the finest distillers who use pot stills, and who therefore produce Pure Single Rum, the category that embodies the very best in rum.
Each Habitation Velier expression embodies an original concept, with unique characteristics: a world first for every distillery.
Still relatively unknown, the Pure Single Rum white rums are the purest expression of sugar cane or its derivatives (molasses).
Vintage rums are aged entirely in a tropical climate, with an angel’s share of over 8% per annum, thus allowing for a natural and accelerated maturation process compared to European ageing, albeit at the expense of the quantity produced.
They are all bottled at barrel strength, without cold filtration, and with no added caramel or any other ingredients not derived from the distillation process.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
