Ardbeg 14 Y.O. 2005 is a Single Malt marketed by the independent bottler The Character Of Islay, which was selected by La Maison du Whisky for the Conquete range. Distilled in 2005, it was aged for 14 years in ex-bourbon casks. The Ardbeg distillery is located in Islay, Scotland, and is one of the oldest on the island: founded in 1798, it began trading in 1815. Its two stills produce one million litres of alcohol each year.
The 2005 Ardbeg is very peaty, like all Single Malts from this historic distillery. What differentiates it from other Islay Island whiskies is its lack of marine character: like the others, this 14 Y.O. is renowned for its smoky, sweet and spicy character together. Fun fact: Ardbeg was the first whisky to travel into space, having sent a few bottles to the International Space Station in 2011 to experiment with the effects of the absence of gravity on taste.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
