A flagship single malt aged for 25 years in fine ex-Bourbon casks, it best expresses Glenmorangie's authentic, award-winning style, allowing you to savour its peak. Selected by Dr Bill Lumsden, who wanted to pay tribute to the brand's historic flavours by using ex-Bourbon casks, including exclusive 'bespoke casks', chosen and prepared by hand by the Whisky Creation Team. Revisiting a pioneering experiment from his early career, Dr. Bill wanted to discover what would happen to this expression if part of it were finished in Madeira casks. The result is extraordinary: a single malt that skilfully enriches Glenmorangie's classic fruity notes with intense sweetness and a touch of spice.
The Altus 25 Years showcases Glenmorangie's distinctive style, thanks in part to the box set that encapsulates the importance of this bottling.
Sipping The Nectar is like entering a French patisserie, where the air is pervaded by sweet aromas, balanced by a delicate spicy undertone. This whisky was born from the memory of Dr Bill's many visits to French patisseries, where he was enchanted by the sweet aromas of freshly baked pastries filling the air.
It is that magical moment when the senses are deliciously overwhelmed, breathing in the swirl of sweet aromas and longing to savour each creamy, crumbly creation on display before you. The Nectar is initially matured in our ex-bourbon casks to develop a deep creaminess, before being aged in a more complex combination of sweet white wine casks (Sauternes, Monbazillac, Moscatel and Tokaji).
The result is a range of sweet and nectarine flavours unprecedented in a Single Malt Scotch Whisky, in which aromas of freshly baked brioche, wine on the lees, cooked apricots and almonds meld with notes of butterscotch, orange syrup, honey honeycomb and apricots dipped in vanilla cream, all balanced by an intriguing touch of spices such as nutmeg and star anise

Glenmorangie is a perfect example of a distillery with an important history, with the first stills lit in 1843, but which in the last 30 years has pushed hard for innovation. The starting point is a solid...

Ireland and Scotland have always contended over the paternity of the invention of whisky, however, there are no official documents and we will not go into this centuries-old dispute, but will rely on...
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
