Foursquare Principia is the third rum born from the collaboration between Richard Seale and Luca Gargano, following the success of Foursquare 2006 and Triptych.
It is a single blended distilled in 2008 and aged in two different types of wood: 3 years in ex-bourbon casks and 6 years in ex-sherry casks.
Its name derives from the theme of going back to the beginning, because the first Foursquare rum intended for export was Doorly's XO, which involved finishing in ex-sherry casks. The bottling is Full Proof at 62% ABV
