Savanna Fort Dauphin is a Rhum Vieux Traditionnel distilled in column, fermented 24 hours and aged 16 years in the tropics in a cask that had contained Armagnac (#989).
Bottled in 2003, only 834 examples were made.
Aromatic profile: this Rhum Vieux promises a smooth and fresh flavour with floral, vegetal and eucalyptus notes. A voluptuous rum with hints of pastry at the end of the meal, reminiscent of rum & sultana ice cream and rum baba. A fine, exotic fruitiness complements its rich tones. When allowed to breathe it becomes more elegant, with a certain freshness in the background. The fruitiness is more evident and we can distinguish mango, passion fruit and pineapple, which have the same tart freshness. There is a slight hint of almond.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
