Since the 1990s, the Michter's team has been doing pioneering work to reestablish the category of high-quality American rye whiskies. The inaugural May 2015 release of Michter's US*1 Barrel Strength Rye marked another milestone in this quest. For maturation, the rye distillate is fed into the cask at 103 degrees, rather than at a higher degree as the industry standard. Entering the cask at a lower degree of 103 instead of higher costs Michter's more money in terms of casks and storage, but the result is a richer, softer, fuller-bodied whiskey after proper maturation.

The news became official at the end of October 2023: Michter's is the first American distillery to be named World's Most Admired Whiskey, receiving the industry's highest accolade. In fact, Michter's has...

Ireland and Scotland have always contended over the paternity of the invention of whisky, however, there are no official documents and we will not go into this centuries-old dispute, but will rely on...
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
