Four years on from the last release, Chichibu presents a new peated single malt, a fine example of Japanese precision and craftsmanship.
To achieve this extraordinary profile, over 40 casks of heavily peated whisky (50 PPM) were carefully selected and blended. These are predominantly ex-bourbon casks, which impart the lively character typical of Chichibu; however, to add complexity, some of the whisky has been matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, whilst another portion has been matured in hogsheads bespoke-made by the distillery’s master coopers.
The result is an elegantly smoky single malt, rich and enveloping, in which the character of the peat meets the complexity of a refined blend.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
