Glenfiddich Grand Chateau is a 31-year-old Single Malt that was aged in American oak casks and then spent a further 9 years in casks containing Bordeaux red wine for maturation. It is the distillery's first whisky matured in this type of barrel.
The creator of this unprecedented maturation is Malt Master Brian Kinsman, who enthusiastically seized the opportunity to experience the union of Glenfiddich's aromatic profile and the typical sweet and nutty notes of Bordeaux, and who carefully monitored the casks to seize the perfect moment for bottling.
This whisky is part of the Grand Series, a collection that aims to celebrate the union of two traditional worlds, with fine Glenfiddichs aged in casks that have contained cognac, sherry, rum and awamori.
Glenfiddich Grand Chateau 31 Y.O. the unusual combination of Speyside and Bordeaux inspired the well-known French artist André Saraiva, who collaborated with the distillery on the bottle's packaging.
Famous in the history of street art, Saraiva was the first artist to depict a character - a cheerful stringy figure in a top hat - instead of the tag name. And it is Mr.A's signature that appears on the pack, distorting the traditional Toile de jouy background print, which is used as a canvas. The figurine is filmed in the act of playfully selecting the precious whisky.

It is a collaboration that further strengthens Glenfiddich's long relationship with the art world, which has manifested itself over time through collaborations with both established and emerging artists.
The Single Malt Glenfiddich 31 Y.O. Grand Château presents rich hints of warm vanilla on the nose, evolving into fruity and floral nuances of blackcurrant berries and hazelnuts.
The palate is sumptuous, with notes of cherries and caramelised apples intertwined with warm spices and toasty oak. The finish is deep and persistent.

The long and exciting history of the Glenfiddich distillery coincides with that of the Scotch Whisky. The Grant family, now in its fifth generation, founded it as early as 1887 in Dufftown, a small town...
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
