This 18-year-old Macallan is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky that is part of the Sherry Oak range, in which whiskies are matured in ex-Sherry oak casks from Jerez to ensure richness and complexity.
Each Macallan whisky reveals an unparalleled commitment to cask selection and distillation that has made the distillery famous since its inception in 1824.
The distillate remains undisturbed in the same casks for the number of years required to ensure it is worthy of the Macallan tradition. It is these oak casks that make the main contribution to the quality, natural colours and unique aromas and flavours that are at the heart of The Macallan single malt.
The Macallan distillery, owned by Edrington, has collaborated with designer David Carson to rethink the design of the Double Cask, Sherry Oak and Colour collections, creating a new visual identity that combines tradition and contemporary vision: the project, which follows Carson's creative direction for the Colour Collection in 2023, draws inspiration from the balance between sherry and oak that defines the aromatic profile of Macallan whiskies, as well as the iconic shape of the distillery, with its distinctive undulating green roof that has influenced the new profile of the bottle.
Distinctive elements remain, such as the triangular label on the shoulder, symbolising the Spanish 'Sherry Triangle' where the sherry-seasoned oak barrels originate, while the back introduces a new symbol dedicated to the types of barrels to illustrate the aromatic contribution of American and European oak. The restyling is completed by advanced anti-counterfeiting technology, an informative QR code and a richer visual narrative, designed to express the complexity and evolution of the brand, with the new design to be gradually introduced in the Timeless Collections during 2025.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
