Rum from Bourbon Island, privileged domaine for a 17th Century cane sugar, Reunion Island is one of the pearls of the Indian Ocean. Founded in 1948, Savanna distillery continues the tradition of rum production. This old rum production facility, deep-rooted in this land, initially based in a place called Savanna in Saint-Paul de la Reunion, was moved in 1992 to Bois-Rouge, north-east of the island, near the sugar factory named the same. The distillery follows completely the manufacturing process of its rum, starting from harvest of sugar cane until bottling, made inside the same distillery.
Aromatic profile: smooth and concentrated in the nouse. Taste oily and floral (violet), also full of sugar with liquorice notes, reveals a plant character (fern). The final is long and rich, reminding the sugar cane. Floral(violet, lilac, mauve) with iodized and slightly medicament notes.
