Fenniscourt is an Irish single malt whiskey produced by the Waterford distillery belonging to the Arcadian Barley series that harks back to ancient Irish traditions.
It is in fact a whiskey that, during the malting stage, is kiln-dried by the heat generated by peat. Here peat is a generational and identity element, harking back to ancient Irish family traditions. These, in fact, used it for heating, as the only source of possible combustion. Illegal distillers also made use of it: it was used to dry barley.
Fenniscourt barley comes from County Carlow and is grown by the Byrne family. Like all grains that are processed by the Waterford distillery, it is an extremely healthy and authentic raw material, processed only under organic and biodynamic regimes, whose characteristics faithfully reflect the land of origin.
Along with Ballybannon, Fenniscourt is one of Waterford's first expressions of peaty whiky. In this case, the distillery has peated it at 38 ppm while, for its older sibling, 47 ppm.
Waterford Single Farm Fenniscourt Peated reveals milky hints, vegetal and herbaceous notes on the nose. The peaty note is balanced and unobtrusive, integrated among the ripe fruit and spice notes. The sip continues on the hints of the nose, with an intense smoky appeal. Citrusy and herbaceous finish.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
