Italian Cities Edition No. 2 Rome is the second release of Kilchoman's Single Casks dedicated to major Italian cities, in this case the Capital - the Colosseum and St Peter's Dome are featured on the label.
This Single Malt was distilled in November 2016 and spent around 5 years in an ex-bourbon cask from Buffalo Trace, then aged further for 3 years in an ex-Porto cask. Characterised by a strong peat, 50ppm, and bottled at cask grade, it has not been cold filtered and is strictly dye-free.
The nose has a peat and iodine smoke, with hints of vanilla, caramel, barbecue and liquorice. The palate is rich with notes of red fruits, liquorice, dark chocolate and ginger, which blend harmoniously with the peat smoke and floral nuances. Peat persists in the finish, combined with red fruits, black pepper, candied orange and chocolate.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
