From the very first nose, this Laphroaig sets the tone for the tasting, revealing an absolutely remarkable complexity and finesse. Its closely related peaty, fruity, floral and chocolate notes rival each other in intensity, bringing plenty of fluidity and movement to an extraordinarily fresh palette of flavors and aromas. Mineral and honey notes also cross during the tasting.
The Laphroaig presented here, distilled in 2001, spent 20 years in an ex-Sherry cask.
The whiskey was bottled cask strength (58.3% vol) for a total of 561 bottles produced. The graphic design makes use of the work of the French painter Catherine Ludeau, entitled Noir Corail.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
