Nikka The Grain Discovery Aromatic Yeast is part of the 'Nikka Discovery' limited series, created to retrace and highlight the key stages of Yoichi and Miyagikyo's creation. Since 2021, Nikka has offered limited editions focused on the discovery of a component of its whiskies and its aromatic impact. The first edition explored the influence of peat, the second highlights the work of yeasts, and the latest promotes grain whiskies by combining the know-how of 4 distilleries.
Nikka The Grain is the result of a blend combining the old Coffey Grain (maize and malted barley) and Coffey Malt (100% malted barley) from the Nishinomiya distillery, combined with Coffey Grain and Coffey Malt from Miyagikyo. These are joined by Barley Grain (malted and unmalted barley) and Barley Grain and Corn & Rye (malted barley, corn, rye), distilled in iron stills at the Moji and Satsuma Tsukasa distilleries. Aged in virgin American oak barrels.
On the nose, this whisky presents hints of beeswax, herbs and fresh fruit, which mingle with nuances of vanilla and cereals, revealing the richness of its flavour profile.
On the palate, the creamy sweetness of almond and coconut milk combine with vanilla, while notes of liquorice, cinnamon and ginger add surprising depth.
The soft, balanced finish reveals the cereals and herbs initially present on the nose, accompanied by aromas of mint, acacia honey and scents of broom and mimosa that linger on the palate.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
